Expedition Portal has posted parts 1 and 2 of their review of the “Severe Duty” XVENTURE XV-2 Trailer from Schutt Industries. You have a trailer similar to this towed by Expedition Overland, and it’s been making its way around the country this summer.

In part 1, ExPo contributor Chazz Layne  covers the basic features of the trailer, including construction, accessories, and options. This is a large trailer that’s perfect for V8 powered vehicles such as ExPo Land Rovers and legendary Land Cruisers, but at 1,190lbs empty, a fully loaded trailer may be a bit much for smaller SUVs.

In their first trail test, ExPo sent the trailer with Chris Cordes for a not-so-easy drive through the woods. The size of the trailer, according to Cordes, was actually a benefit on the trail:
       “The additional size of the XV-2 allowed me to constantly keep a line of sight to the trailers tires”

Overall, it looks like this is a great option if your tow vehicle can support it’s size.
